Early Learners Program
A Different Kind of Program for Young Children
The Early Learners Program joined the Foothills School in 1998
as a small pilot program of twelve families with children ages
3-5. That fall, the school received a very generous grant from
the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation to support the creation
of an Early Childhood Learning Center and Laboratory School.
Our program was inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia,
Italy.
Their influence on our philosophy is apparent in much of what
we do in the classroom. But make no mistake; the program represents
the children, parents and teachers that live inside of it every
day.
Today we have 32 students ages 3-5 in a large, beautiful space.
We have 4 highly qualified classroom teachers, Carrie,
Rebekah, and
Margaret.
They bring a dirversity of expertise, personality and passion to their work with children.
Our children
continue to amaze us with their gifts, interests, passions
and capabilities.
Every year is new and exciting and we feel lucky to be a part
of it.
