Music Specialist –P/T

A small independent school in the heart of downtown Boise, Foothills School supports a strong, varied and rich music program. Our experience demonstrates the need for a new approach to staffing our music program that will include part-time positions serving varying concentrations. Our primary aim is to create a music program of highly creative and flexible music educators, with strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills. Knowledge of inquiry-based education methodology and differentiation of instruction is preferred, as is a degree in Music Education. Applicants must be eager to honor and value students’ interests and talents and be able to incorporate those interests, talents and student voices into the design and implementation of the music curriculum. Applicants must be willing to work with faculty to infuse music into the curriculum of the academic program. We are recruiting a lead music teacher, and will select additional specialists with particular skills in instrumental music, vocal music, composition, performance, music appreciation and history/anthropology of music.
