From 2008-09 into the 2009-10 academic year, the Foothills faculty and leadership team worked together to document our learning program across all grades and all disciplines. At the cornerstone of our educational program is a commitment to the kind of flexibility that encourages achievement for every student, alongside assuring that our students reach - and exceed - the national standards established for each curricular area.
Curriculum Maps, the end product of this extensive work, serve not only as a communication tool among faculty and parents, but also as a tool for short- and long-term planning. Maps illuminate gaps in important content and help faculty avoid repetition. Maps also clarify areas where the content can be integrated to provide more meaningful learning. Finally, Curriculum Maps serve as an important guide in keeping faculty focused on our mission of providing a vibrant learning community.
By clicking on the links below, you will access the Curriculum Maps for each grade, as well as the Scope & Sequence Maps (or, what happens, when) or for grades within specific content areas. If you have any questions about the content of this information, please contact Jo Henderson, Interim Education Director.
