Board of Trustees

The Foothills School Board of Trustees, the school's governing body, consists of volunteers representing various constituencies including Foothills parents, past Foothills parents, educators, and community members from the greater Boise area.  The board meets monthly and works with the school leadership to ensure financial stability and guide the school into the future.

Jennifer Swartz, Chair

Jennifer Swartz is mom to two girls, one a current Foothills student and another up-and-coming! Originally from Oklahoma, Jennifer moved to Boise with her husband, Eric, in 2001. After practicing as a civil litigation attorney for several years, Jennifer segued her interest in education to a new career in the public sector advising state agencies on education law and related matters. As a Deputy Attorney General, Jennifer represents the Idaho State Board of Education and Idaho Public Charter School Commission. Jennifer is also a professional photographer and owner of East End Portrait Photography, and teaches the fun art of family photo-taking to others through Focus on Family photography workshops. In 2011, Jennifer started a local Roots and Shoots group for preschool children and their families, and continues to lead that group in a variety of service projects designed to benefit people, animals, and the environment.

Isaac Squyres, Vice Chair

Isaac Squyres is a Partner at DaviesMoore, a Boise-based communications, marketing and advertising firm. Isaac grew up in Boise before heading to the south, where he graduated from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C. and lived in Nashville for nearly 10 years. Upon returning to Boise in 2006, Isaac joined Gallatin Public Affairs. While there, he was the lead general campaign consultant to Walt Minnick’s successful run for U.S. Congress in 2008, after which he served as Chief of Staff to the Congressman during the transition to elected office. He was a Partner at  Gallatin prior to joining DaviesMoore in 2012. His daughter went through the Early-Learners program and continues to excel in the Primaries at Foothills, where she is developing the lifelong learning skills so critical to success in the 21st Century. Isaac also serves on the board of directors for Movies For A Cause.

Patricia Forbes, Secretary

Patricia Forbes is a former Foothills parent who currently is working on a graduate degree in international humanitarian assistance focused on the plight of displaced populations in Africa. Her long-standing avid interest in international relations has allowed her to spend time in India and Sri Lanka working on humanitarian projects. She is a founding member of the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation and currently on the Board of the “Dominican Oversees Education and Relief Society.” 

John Paschke, Treasurer

John Paschke is the proud father of four children - all of whom are enrolled at Foothills. John received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a law degree from Harvard Law School.  John is the Vice President of Business Development and Licensing at Keystone Technology Solutions, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Micron Technology, where he focuses on unlocking the value in Micron's patent portfolio.  His wife, Ilana, is also an attorney locally, and the entire family is actively involved in Foothills School.

Coree Carver

Bill Coffey

Part of the Foothills family since 2003, Bill Coffey and his wife, Paige Shafer, have 2 children. Their son, Henry, is a 2012 Foothills graduate who currently attends Boise High School. Their daughter, Frances, is a fifth grader at Anser Charter School. Bill is a marketing professional who currently holds the position of Operations Director for a digital agency with multiple locations in the US and Europe, including an office in Boise where Bill has been based for the past 12 years. Originally from California, Bill is also a professional musician who has spent most of the past two decades playing music in and around his adopted hometown of Boise. As a performer, Bill has shared the stage with artists such as Dwight Yoakam, George Jones and John Hiatt. As a music educator, Bill has volunteered his time to work with young people on songwriting and music performance in a group setting and also recently began teaching private lessons in guitar accompaniment for singer-songwriters. During his time in Idaho, Bill has applied both his musical and marketing expertise to various causes and non-profit organizations he believes in, including the Conservation Voters for Idaho where he served as a board member from 2009 to 2011.

Lancer Erwin

Lancer Erwin and his wife Alyson have two children, Kalyca and Kylee, who attend Foothills. Lancer is a graduate of Boise State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting degree. He worked as a CPA for a few years and since 1996 is Franchise Owner of Larson, McKeown, Erwin & Associates, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. as a Financial Advisor. Lancer also serves on the Foothills School Finance Committee.

Milt Gillespie

Milt Gillespie, father of an Intermediate student, is the owner and president of Mariposa Labs, a personal care product design and manufacturing company located in Boise.  Previously, he was a Director and Principal for McKinsey & Company, serving as an international business consultant in both Hong Kong and Los Angeles.  Milt holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago, and a degree in Mathematics and Economics from Reed College.  He is a member of the Board of the United Way of Treasure Valley and is a policy committee member for Voices for Idaho's Children.

Mary Andrews

Mary Andrews attended independent schools during her primary and secondary education in her home state of Hawaii. Mary believes her experiences in independent schools have had a profoundly positive impact on her life, and is continuously grateful for it! In that spirit, Mary is pleased to have a role in providing a professional 21st Century learning environment at Foothills School of Arts and Sciences for your children. Mary’s twenty-five year business career has included stints in the venture capital, financial services and agribusiness industries. Currently Mary is the Director of the Office of University and Industry Ventures at Boise State University. The Office of University and Industry Ventures supports research and intellectual property commercialization. The Office facilitates many types of industry collaborations that benefit research endeavors, academic opportunity and economic development. Mary is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a graduate of the University of San Francisco McLaren School of Business. Mary also studied at the San Francisco Academy of Art. Mary volunteers for entrepreneur focused organizations such as Kickstand and the Boise Angel Alliance.

Marla Henken

Michael Tapia

Michael Tapia is a graduate of Boise State University and Managing Partner of Tapia Family Catering LLC. Michael and his wife Anna have three children who have attended Foothills, and have been a part of the Foothills community since 1997.
