ANNUAL FUND FAQS
Q. WHAT IS THE ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN?
A: The Annual Campaign is an eight-week fundraising effort that exists to cover the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating a student at Foothills. Like all private schools, our budget is set so that tuition remains as low as possible. Even families paying full tuition are not paying the full cost of a Foothills education; the Annual Fund gifts help bridge this gap. Every year, Foothills seeks 100% participation from all current parents, faculty, staff, and trustees. We also seek support from the entire Foothills community including alumni families, adult graduates, and grandparents.
Q. WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER A GIFT TO THE ANNUAL CAMPAIGN WHEN I ALREADY PAY TUITION?
A: By helping to cover the gap between the price of tuition and what it actually costs to educate each Foothills student, your gift to the Annual Campaign directly influences the educational experience all students have at Foothills. The availability of more resources equals access to more educational tools and opportunities. Your generous tax-deductible gift allows our students to have the “extras” that turn an excellent education into an exceptional one.
Q. WHY NOT JUST RAISE TUITION?
A: Philanthropy is part of Foothills' culture. By keeping tuition as financially accessible as possible, we gain a more economically diverse student population which enriches every student’s educational experience. Also, contributions to Foothills are tax-deductible, whereas tuition payments are not. When you donate to the Annual Campaign, you help keep tuition payments lower and your gift entitles you to a tax benefit.
Q: HOW ARE ANNUAL FUND GIFTS USED?
A: The money donated to the Annual Fund is used within the fiscal year in which it is received and supports a portion of Foothills’ operational needs, including hiring and retaining outstanding faculty members, enhancing academic and extracurricular programs, maintaining facilities, and enabling the school to offer financial assistance to families who otherwise would not be able to afford a Foothills education.
Q: WHY IS 100% PARTICIPATION SO IMPORTANT?
A: 100% participation helps Foothills represent our community at its best. When people outside the Foothills family see such high levels of participation, they can understand the extent of enthusiasm and support for the school. When Foothills applies for foundation and corporate grants, and when we look for community partnerships, our Annual Campaign participation rate is one of the factors considered as those organizations make decisions. They want to see a strong showing of support from those closest to the school.
Q: HOW MUCH AM I EXPECTED TO GIVE?
A: We ask each family to give to their family's best ability. For some families, that may be $10. For others, it is $1,000 or more. When thinking about the amount of your gift you may want to consider monthly installments.
Q: CAN I USE MY EMPLOYER MATCHING FOR THE ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN?
A: Yes! We welcome this opportunity for additional dollars and are prepared to complete the necessary paperwork in order to receive them. Q: CAN I DESIGNATE MY GIFT TO A SPECIFIC AREA?
A: We ask that Annual Campaign gifts be undesignated, so that they may do the most good for the greatest amount of students.
Q: WHEN SHOULD I GIVE?
A: The Annual Campaign is an eight-week effort to support the current year's needs. Pledges are made during the eight-week campaign ending December 2, 2022, and payment is welcome any time through June 30, 2023. If you have already made your gift, we thank you for your support!
Q: IF MY FAMILY RECEIVES FINANCIAL AID AND I DONATE TO THE ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN, WILL IT AFFECT MY AID?
A: No. There is no correlation. Financial Aid information is completely confidential.
Q: CAN I GIVE MONTHLY, BY CREDIT CARD, OR ONLINE?
A: You can give to the Annual Fund by check or credit card through a recurring or single-time gift, by electronic funds transfer, or even by transfer of appreciated stock.

Fill out the pledge card you received in the mail and return it to Katie or Emily. Pledges do not need to be fulfilled until June 30, 2023. Katie has extra pledge cards available at the front desk.
