"My daughter loves Foothills and she has asked to go here until she goes to college. Learning about what a growth mindset is has been an amazing tool to help stretch her both in and out of school. I love that she participates in visual and performing arts throughout the school year. Additionally, Design Lab in the 3-4 classroom has been something she enjoys and she's already planning projects for design lab next year." ~3-4 Parent
At Foothills School, we want our students to learn how to boldly question. We believe this ability starts by igniting a passion for learning through a progressive approach to education and ensuring that students feel safe to ask hard questions, test their theories, push beyond the status quo, and challenge assumptions when necessary. We want our students to know that they matter, what they have to say matters, and that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the greater good.
We think it's never too early to start our students on the path to becoming innovators, design thinkers, philosophers, great collaborators and problem solvers, and people who confidently face challenges with optimism. To this end, we have designed our educational program based largely on our students' questions and capacity for great thinking. Because when our students become adults, we want them to live with intention, know their purpose, find happiness and success, and do great things for the world.
Curriculum Guide
We are excited to share our school's Curriculum Guide for each class/dyad, which you can find below. The Curriculum Guide provides summary information about learning outcomes in each dyad and program. As you explore the guide, you can read about an individual dyad, for example, to see what students learn during those two years. You can also pick a subject and read the outcomes for that subject in each section of the guide to better understand the progression of learning for students over their time at Foothills.
