A Philanthropic Legacy

For over 30 years, trailblazing donors have invested their time, talent, and financial donations to help realize Foothills' mission from the dream of our school’s founder into a reality serving 155 students today. Generous gifts of all sizes from families past and present, from local foundations, and from alumni and friends have enabled the school's growth and play a critical role in our continued success.

Our goal is to reach 100% participation in giving in any way you can because the vibrant and inspiring Foothills School experience depends on more than tuition dollars alone.

Annual Campaign

Giving to the Annual Campaign is the school’s top philanthropic priority because its proceeds fund 5% of the current year’s operating budget. Every student benefits immediately from the generosity of your annual campaign contribution. We appreciate meaningful personal and generous gifts from our families each year.

Families Association

The Families Association (affectionately called “The Mullets” for their business in the front and party in the back approach) shapes our community by supporting programs and events to deepen your connection to the school. The Mullets offer extensive volunteer opportunities for everyone in the community. Whether you have just an hour to spare or can commit to a year-long initiative, The Mullets would love your help!

Annual Auction

Our Annual Auction is the school’s second philanthropic priority because its proceeds fund 5% of the current year’s operating budget. With a creative theme and one of the best gala parties in the city, the Annual Auction is a wonderful night of connection, celebration, and philanthropy that is inclusive in terms of ticket price. There are fun opportunities for you to make personally meaningful and generous gifts through games, raffles, a silent auction, a live auction, and a raise-the-paddle effort.

Capital Campaign

Different from the Annual Campaign and Annual Auction, which support each year’s operating budget, the Capital Campaign brings to life the long-term vision of the school. Capital campaigns are fundraising efforts to pay for capital projects that create substantial, extraordinary physical improvements to the school or strengthen its endowment.

Endowment

Gifts to endowment funds ensure the long-term financial health and stability of our school and allow Foothills to remain competitive by recruiting and retaining the best faculty and providing the finest educational experience for our students. Endowment fund gifts are professionally invested to provide income for the school’s operating budget, financial assistance, and faculty support in perpetuity. Gifts to endowment funds may be of any size and may be designated for a particular purpose or to an existing named endowment fund. Named endowment funds for specific areas of your choice may be created with gifts of $10,000 or more.

Example of Endowment Fund

In 2023, the Board of Trustees and the Foothills Faculty partnered together to collectively give almost $10,000 to establish an endowment to fund financial assistance. Each year, the board and faculty past and present will be invited to donate to the endowment fund for financial assistance to make a Foothills School education accessible to more families into the future. To make a gift of any amount to the Endowment Fund, please contact the Development Director at (208) 331-9260, Ext. 113. Thank You!
