An Independent, private PreK-9th Grade school in downtown Boise, Idaho.

Welcome to Foothills School!

Thank you for your interest in Foothills School of Arts & Sciences. For more than 30 years, Foothills has offered an educational experience that challenges students to think deeply, ask meaningful questions, solve complex problems, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. We believe students learn best when they are active participants in their education. When they have opportunities to explore, create, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning.

At Foothills, academic excellence and student well-being go hand in hand. Our students build strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and the humanities while developing the curiosity, creativity, confidence, perseverance, and critical-thinking skills that prepare them for success both in school and in life.

From our Early Learners through 9th grade, students engage in authentic, project-based learning experiences that connect academic concepts to real-world challenges. Our downtown Boise campus extends the classroom into the community, providing opportunities for students to learn from local organizations, experts, and experiences.

Foothills is a place where students are known, valued, and encouraged to become their best selves. We believe that strong relationships, a sense of belonging, and meaningful challenge create the conditions for exceptional learning.

While a website can tell part of our story, the best way to understand Foothills is to experience it for yourself. I invite you to visit our campus, meet our students and teachers, and see the learning in action.

I look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Warmly,
Mary Dobroth, P ‘33
