Welcoming Our Next Head of School
Transitions in leadership are meaningful moments in the life of a school. They invite both reflection and anticipation. At Foothills, they also reaffirm what remains constant: a deep belief in children, a commitment to joyful learning, and a community grounded in connection, compassion, integrity, authenticity, and agency.
We are delighted to share that Mary Dobroth has been selected as Foothills School’s next Head of School, starting this summer.
Mary brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to leadership, along with a deep respect for the kind of learning that happens here every day. Her work reflects a strong alignment with Foothills’ mission to weave together the arts and sciences, inspiring children to become joyful, lifelong learners. She understands that education is not only about academic excellence, but also about nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a strong sense of self.
This moment also offers an opportunity to express gratitude for Nick’s leadership and the care he has brought to this community. His commitment to authenticity and belonging has shaped the experience of countless children and families, and his impact will continue to be felt in the culture of the school.
As we look ahead, we do so with a sense of continuity and possibility. Mary will build on a strong foundation while guiding Foothills into its next chapter with intention and heart.
